Wireless Sensor Networks

We have performed extensive research on wireless sensor networks, including:
  • The Mantis multi-threaded operating system for mote-based wireless sensor networks
  • FireWxNet - a WSN application deployed in the mountains of Montana to measure weather effects surrounding forest fires, in collaboration with the University of Montana at Missoula
  • X-MAC - a duty-cycled MAC protocol for energy-efficient communication in WSNs
  • Secure routing, communication, and code distribution in WSNs
  • WildSense: a delay-tolerant network (DTN) of sensors deployed on wild deer
